Starting in the Sign Industry
My Name is Kassia, I have been a part of the Advantage Signs team since November 2013 when I started in the Print Department as a Print Coordinator. I was here about 1 year and 2 months when I got the great opportunity to move over into the Sign Side of things as a Project Coordinator in January 2015. Let me tell you I was so nervous and had NO CLUE about signage let alone manufacturing and installation. It was a whole new world when I stepped into the signage side. New lingo and abbreviations I had to learn, but I jumped in feet first and never looked back. I was partnered with the sales/installations manager to be his right hand to learn and absorb everything he knows about the industry. Still to this day almost 8 months later I am still learning. What I like most about being in the Sign Industry is it’s always constantly different. No two days have been the same since I started in this position. There is always a new sign, a new concept, a new company and I love that everyday I’m meeting new people and have a different experience. But the best experience I have had while being a Project Coordinator has been on the job site watching and learning how it starts from a concept in a client’s head to working on it with our excellent in-house graphic designers, to watch it go through the manufacturing process in our 10,000 sq ft. new additional shop, up to the final installation where the dream finally becomes a reality. Advantage Signs has provided me with a great learning experience and hand on training and they have given me to opportunity to exceed.
